A record July for inbound arrivals — and why we are less willing to underwrite a purchase on it
On 19 August, JNTO reported 3.44 million visitors for July, a record for the month. But the total barely grew, the source-market mix has been reshuffled, and Tokyo and Osaka have been tightening their short-stay lodging rules at the same time. Together they change how the "buy it and run it as a minpaku" case adds up.
